Grassroots Institute has been established to support the grassroots action for change by training, research, skill upgradation, linkage building and networking. Created under Grassroots India Trust, a registered charity, Grassroots Institute principally works in North India and North-East India through one or more modes of activities.OBJECTIVES
1. To conduct research, studies, impact assessments, evaluation and monitoring on the subjects/ themes related to human development to galvanize the change in society.
2. To organize and deliver trainings, consultations and capacity building activities on the issues/ themes related to development, grassroots action and social transformation for strengthening the social organizations/ activists and local communities.
3. To impart training and knowledge to the students, trainees, professionals, interns, local people, etc. on the development, environment and communication related themes/ subjects through structured or semi-structured courses.
4. To execute the projects encompassing development of poor, marginalized, weaker sections and excluded communities.
5. To hold workshops, seminars, symposia, consultations, meetings, forums, conferences, etc. in order to promote social/ economic equity, justice, peace, people’s rights, and so on.
6. To promote academic linkages for information/ knowledge transfer, sharing, exchange and management in the interests of people, environment and society.
7. To network, build alliances and make coalitions with like-minded organizations and individuals for promoting the objectives of the organization.
