Brief Bio
Dr. Anna Karova holds a Master degree in Agroecology (1998) and in 2007 has completed her PhD at the Agricultural University of Plovdiv (Bulgaria) on the classical biological control (use of bioagents for control of invasive plants). Currently she is Associate Professor at the Department of Agroecology and environmental protection at Agricultural University being head of the department in 2012-2017. She teaches courses on Agroecology, Organic farming and Environmental law in different Bachelor and Master degree programs. Her main research interests are in the field of agroecology and organic farming. Since 2000 she has participated in numerous international projects focused on introduction, dissemination and development of organic agriculture in Bulgaria as well as in national and international conferences. Since 2003 she has been also general manager of control body in organic farming.
She is co-author of a text book on Organic Farming, a study guide on Agroecology and Environmental Protection, and more than 50 scientific publications. Leader of Master degree course in Crop Protection.
Member of the Editorial Board of peer-reviewed international journal “GRASSROOTS JOURNAL OF NATURAL RESOURCES”
Expert at National Executive Agency Bulgarian Accreditation Service in the field of Product Certification.
