Brief Bio
Giusto Amedeo Boccheni is a doctoral candidate in comparative law at McGill University and a research assistant to Professor and Canada Research Chair on Cosmopolitan Law and Justice Evan Fox-Decent. He holds a Law Degree from Università degli Studi di Torino, and an LLM and MS from the International University College of Turin.
Giusto Amedeo is a graduate fellow of the Research Group on Constitutional Studies (RCGS) and the Center for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP), and a member of the IUCN-WCEL Task Force on the Rights of Nature.
His research is in the fields of comparative constitutionalism, international legal theory, and commons governance, and his doctoral thesis analyzes the conceptual and normative relationship between sovereignty and freshwater governance from the perspective of critical legal pluralism, especially in connection to Indigenous Peoples, non-human beings, and property owners in the Columbia and Mekong river basins.
