Brief Bio

Prof. Dr. Teresa Fajardo is a Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the Faculty of Law of the University of Granada. She graduated in Law (1991), Master in Community Law (1992), Specialist in European Law (1993) and Doctor in Law with an award for the best doctoral thesis from the University of Granada in the field of Law (2002). She has been a FPU Research Fellow at the University of Granada (1992-1995), a part-time Associate Professor (1996), full-time (1996 -2006) at the University of Granada, a PhD contracted Professor at the University of Granada (2006 - 2007). She has also participated in different international law projects in public calls: Efface, European Union Action To Fight Environmental Crime EFFACE of the European Commission (2012 - present), International Law and the new governance after the economic crisis of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (2012-2014), Articulation of the Foreign Action of the European Union after the Treaty of Lisbon of the Ministry of Science and Innovation (2011-2013), The Mediterranean Policy of the European Union of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (2012-2013).

Dr. Teresa Fajardo’s research and teaching have always been linked to International and European Environmental and Migration Law, and she has participated in European research projects funded by the European Commission and the European Parliament. She is a member of the Jean Monnet Chair on EU Environmental Law at the University of Barcelona. Her management positions at the University of Granada include:

  • Coordinator of the Master of Higher International and European Studies.
  • Member of the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program in Legal Sciences of the UGR.
  • ANECA Evaluator from 2015 to the present.
  • ACAP Evaluator from 2012 to 2015.
  • Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law from 2008-2012.
  • Deputy Director of the Center for Development Cooperation Initiatives of the UGR 2004-2005.

She undertook the following research projects:
