Brief Bio

Larissa Jane Houston is a doctoral candidate at the University of Graz and works as a project manager and researcher at ClimLaw: Graz and as a project researcher for the University of Padova, Italy. She is a non-resident research fellow at the Development and Rule of law Programme (DROP) at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Additionally, she is also a member of a number of world renowned and prestigious research societies and networks, namely: the Global Pandemic Network; the International Sustainable Development Research Society; Women in Law Initiative, Vienna; UNFCCC YOUNGO Youth Constituency; SDG7 Youth Constituency; and the IUCN World Commission of Environmental Law. Her research areas include: climate change law, energy law, sustainable development, just transitions and just decarbonisation. Throughout her many projects and publications, her focus has been to draw ties and connections to global north-south experiences, bridging gaps in policy, development and legal frameworks.
