Youth Public Environmental Organization “Our Home – Manyava”
Youth Public Environmental Organization “Our Home – Manyava” is one of the first youth environmental NGOs in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. The Organization was established in 2003 by the young people with the aim to form a conscious, responsible, and caring attitude of the locals to the natural resources and conserve the environment in the Carpathians.
Now, the organization has 12 members, 8 volunteers in Ivano-Frankivsk region, and partnerships with 27 NGOs in Ukraine and abroad (Slovakia and Canada).
Our vision is to promote Sustainable Development of the Carpathians, forming conscious communities living in harmony with nature.
Our mission is to make positive changes in the solving of environmental problems in the Carpathians using the principles of sustainable development and to protect the ecological rights of locals for the better quality of their life today and tomorrow.
Our Programs and Services
Youth Public Environmental Organization "Our Home - Manyava" accomplishes its mission in four ways:
- Education and professional development for residents;
- Environment conservation and protection partnerships;
- Environmental researches and evaluations
- Advocacy at local, regional and state levels.
Our Goals 2019 – 2022
1. To inform the local communities on climate change, sustainable energy development, and implement energy-efficiency measures;
2. To promote Sustainable Development of the Carpathian Region;
3. To preserve small rivers in the Carpathian region, to improve access to drinking water and water resources management;
4. To strengthen public attraction to natural protection and conservation.
