Brief Bio

Alen Mujcinovic is an Associate Professor working in the field of agricultural and food industry economics at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences, University of Sarajevo. Involved in several national and international projects most recent one H2020 - Promoting SMART agricultural WATER management in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SMARTWATER), Erasmus + project - Western Balkans Urban Agriculture Initiative (BUGI), COST Action CA18213: Rural NEET Youth Network: Modeling the risks underlying rural NEETs social exclusion. Involved in teaching Markets and marketing of agricultural and food industry products, international trade, agricultural economics, quality management, urban distribution systems, public policy, entrepreneurship, development of new products.

His Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Sciences was successfully defended in December 2020, with the topic “Impact of public policy on a quality of business of medicinal and aromatic plant producers in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

Recently, he got involved in COST Action: Rural NEET Youth Network: Modeling the risks underlying rural NEETs social exclusion investigating bio-ecological layers that influence youth development and in particular reasons why youth do not want to deal with agricultural and complementary activities (such as rural tourism, eco-tourism, etc.)
