Brief Bio
Dr. Mojca Ilc Klun received her PhD in geography from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2017. She has been working at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana as an assistant (2007-2017), and since 2017 as an assistant as Assistant Professor. For her PhD thesis she gained the first prize from the Republic of Slovenia, Government Office for Slovenians Abroad. Her research area and project work are didactics of geography, teacher’s education, gamification, migration, European identity, mountain education and education for sustainable development. Her educational field focuses on practical work with students for different areas of geography, such as didactics of geography, fieldworks, human geography, cultural geography, migration, economic geography. She has been Vice President of DUGS – Association for geography teachers in Slovenia, the co-editor of Scientific magazine Dela, a member of editorial board of professional magazine Geografski obzornik. She has been publishing scientific articles in Slovenian and international magazines and books, she is the co-author of geography textbooks for primary schools, she has been presenting her research work on Slovenian and international conferences (USA and European countries), she has co-organized national and international conferences in Slovenia and abroad. She has been actively involved in various Slovenian and EU projects, within which she has been developing teaching methods and tools for teachers, students and pupils.
