My field of expertise: Biology, Zoology in particular, Ecology, Sustainable Management of Protected Areas, International Cooperation on Environmental Issues My expert work is devoted to biological research in the Carpathians.
Brief Bio
My professional experience in CNNP is 35 years.
Project participation:
2008 - Research "Study of global and regional changes in the environment" - Development of scientific and methodological basic assessments and forecasting of landscape and climate change in Ukraine. "Study of changes in vegetation cover on the processes of carbon metabolism in the regions of Kyiv region and the Carpathians";
2009-Technical consultant in the implementation of the project "Preservation and sustainable use of natural resources of the Ukrainian Carpathians;
2009-2012- expert work about fish, amphibians, reptiles and mammals in the CNNP;
2011-2012 - Identification of new wetlands that meet the requirements (criteria) for wetlands of international importance (Ramsar Convention) and the inclusion of certain areas located in the CNNP;
2012-2014- Coordinator of the Project on Environmental Protection and Scientific Issues of the project "Without Borders: a network of natural routes in the Eastern Carpathians", implemented by the Ukrainian youth organization "Center for Social and Business Initiatives" in partnership with CNNP; General coordination of the project of allocation of especially valuable for preservation of forests according to the technique stated in the practical manual for Ukraine "Especially valuable for preservation of forests: definition and management";
2013 - present time –"Preservation of Carpathian virgin forests" (Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Birds in partnership and with the financial support of the Frankfurt Zoological Society (Germany). The main task of the project is to preserve virgin and ancient forests by expanding the conservation territories;
2016 - present time – "Support of nature reserves in Ukraine" contributes to the preservation of unique natural resources of European and global importance (grant provided by the Government of Germany, and the Ministry of Environment of Ukraine assumes full responsibility for implementation and operation of the project) to strengthen the material and technical base of the Parks (equipment, cars, special uniforms, reconstructions and construction of new utility rooms, etc.);
2019 - present time – The Global Conservation Fund (USA) aimed at wildlife conservation through the trainings of park staff and material support.
