Brief Bio
My research and educational work covers various aspects of sustainable development of tourist destinations. I was a member of the Community Connections program of the US Government in the area of environmental protection (Charlotte, North Carolina) and the DESPRO training project (Switzerland) with Local Development and Project Management organization. I am a strong supporter of the sustainable development of the Ukrainian Carpathians in all its manifestations: preservation of ecological balance, development of economically and environmentally acceptable types of farming for the local (indigenous) population. My scientific work is devoted to the preservation of the environment and traditional culture of the inhabitants of the mountain territories. I consider tourism as an acceptable type of economy in the context of sustainable development of such regions and traditional types of crafts and production of local ecologically clean products as an important component of tourism development. I work in the field of higher education and hold regular consultations of interested parties on aforementioned issues for more than 15 years. I am an author of more than 100 scientific publications, numerous teaching aid books like "Sustainable Tourism Development Strategy" and "Project Management in Tourism" that are used in the University's educational process and in numerous trainings for tourism workers, local level managers, united territorial communities, etc. I advise national parks on tourism development and sustainable use of nature.
