Brief Bio
Timur is a senior adviser at The Little Earth. Since the 2000s, he worked as the executive director of The Little Earth - national environmental NGO that has more than 15 years of experience in the field of sustainable energy, climate change, environmental education and youth movement development, where he was responsible for multiple tasks including developing policies and coordinating activities, administrating and supervising staff members, leading resources mobilization activities and developing project proposals and programme management.
As a senior adviser Timur support The Little Earth on its strategic programming and development of relevant policies, backing resource mobilization activities and assist with reporting and outreach activities. As a senior adviser of The Little Earth and as a moderator of Tajikistan NGOs climate change network Timur is involved in projects and forums that tackle issues of climate change, environment and local communities’ development.
Timur holds Master’s Degree in Journalism from Russian-Tajik Slavonic University. He also completed a number of additional educational courses and training-of-trainers on climate change, ecosystem-based adaptation, disasters risks reduction.
He has experience in developing thematic training programs and materials, as well as conducting seminars and trainings (both on national and international levels) on environmental issues for various target audiences. For more than 10 years, he was the national coordinator of the international school project on the use of resources and energy (SPARE) and for more than 5 years he was an active member of the Central Asian working group on education for sustainable development. He is a member of the International Socio-Ecological Union and an alumni of the Norwegian Peace Corps volunteer exchange program (Fredkorpset), International Visitors Leadership Program (US Department of State) and Young environmental leaders training (REC for Central and Eastern Europe).
