Brief Bio

Professor Cristiana Radulescu received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2003 and the habilitation in Environmental Engineering in 2021 at the Politehnica University of Bucharest. Currently, Professor Radulescu is Director of Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Science and Technology from Valahia University of Targoviste (VUT), Romania (2nd mandate) and VUT Head for scientific cooperation with JINR Dubna, Russia through bilateral cooperation between VUT Romania - JINR Russia (since 2016). Former vice-dean of Faculty of Science and Arts (2012-2016), she is the Member of Executive Board of European Chemical Society (EuChemS), President of Targoviste Branch – Romanian Chemical Society (since 2006) and member in EUCHEMS, Division of Chemical Education (since 2019). From 2008 till 2016 she was EIM and BM Evaluator through the National Agency of Environmental Protection, Romania, and from 2018 she is Evaluator/Expert of EU Toys Certification, according to Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC, from Romanian Movement for Quality (MRC) accredited by RENAR. Over 29 years of experience in the research area, she gains strong expertise, in the synthesis and characterization of organic compounds and advanced materials for application in nanomedicine. Her research deals with different aspects of nanomaterials medicinal chemistry, and environmental chemistry as well. She was involved in 40 international and national R&D projects (i.e., bilateral project VUT-JINR, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe-EIT KICs-HEIs, COST, MSCA, EAA, PNCCDI, PDI-PFE, FDI, etc.), as coordinator/principal investigator/scientific key-expert/Master and Ph.D. students supervisor. She published over 220 articles (166 in ISI journals), 25 books/chapters, 2 international reports, and 5 patents. She obtained over 20 national/international awards at various invention exhibitions /conferences (gold medals and diploma of excellence). In addition, she was awarded by the Romanian Chemical Society several times, last recognition was in 2019 when received the „Costin Nenitescu” Medal and Diploma for special merits in the field of chemistry. Regarding the activity carried out within Romanian Chemical Society Professor Radulescu was involved in the promotion of chemistry for attracting young people to this science; enhancing the visibility of the Romanian Chemical Society by organizing national/ international conferences; attracting sponsors for different activities within Romanian Chemical Society (e.g., conferences organization, financial support, especially for young members, etc). She serves as Editor of Coatings and Journal of Chemistry, Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Science and Arts, as well a member of several Editorial Board journals.
