Dr. Solaymani received trainings on watershed management at Tehran University for BS and MS. He graduated his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi (IITD). He has a background in Hydrology and Watershed Modelling, and he specializes in Integrated Watershed Modelling (IWM), with interests in interaction of ecosystem-based management in semi-arid mountainous basins. He has involved the various research projects and executive operations in Iran and abroad.
He has also been member of various national working groups related to climate change and soil and water management in Iran. He is member of national steering committee of national working group to climate change in Iran for the last 10+ years. Also, he has been serving member in Forest, Rangeland and Watershed Iranian High Council from 2014 till the date. He was a member of the Data Exchange Working Group under the Climate Commission of World Meteorological Organization (WMO) from 2018 to 2021.
Dr. Solaymani published many academic papers and books on watershed management, watershed modelling, impact assessment of climate change, and adaptation to climate change, international environmental conventions and climate smart forest management and sustainable biodiversity management in mountain area.
