Dr. Rose Jane J. Peras is Professor and currently Chair of the Department of Social Forestry and Forest Governance, College of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of the Philippines Los Baños. She has more than 20 years of experience in research and development and 15 years in forestry education and public service. Her research involvements in forestry, community-based forest management, integrated watershed management plan development, human dimension of climate change, disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation and forest governance led her to author/co-author 29 technical publications. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Master of Science in Forestry from the University of the Philippines Los Banos and Ph.D. degree in Forest Governance from The University of Tokyo.
